Resistance Grounding Systems are used in industrial electrical power distribution facilities to limit phase-to-ground fault currents. This training module is intended for new or experienced electricians and technicians that install, maintain, repair or troubleshoot power and auxiliary systems.
Learning Objectives:
- Explain the fundamentals, basic principles, and requirements of grounding and bonding.
- Explain the difference between neutral and ground.
- Describe the intent of system grounding and equipment grounding.
- Describe the characteristics of solidly grounded, ungrounded, low-resistance and high-resistance grounding systems.
- Describe the advantages and limitations of various grounding systems.
Prerequisites:
Participants should have basic knowledge of power system components.
